Therapy is about learning to own, without shame, the disowned parts of the self. To do so is to become whole: to think, act and feel, and to connect with others from the authentic self. Integration is achieved by engaging in a non-judgmental, accepting relationship where all parts of the self can be known and shared.
If I cannot help you, I may be able to give you other options or referrals that are likely to be of help.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, issues of self esteem, troubled relationships, abuse and/or trauma recovery, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), family of origin issues, and treating those who were raised by alcoholics and/or narcissistic parents or with other forms of dysfunction.
I tailor my approach to each individual. I provide a supportive environment in which you will gain insight, developing new and effective coping skills. We work together to understand how your present is influenced by your past, and to change old patterns of behavior.
I operate from the perspective that the experiences from our childhood affect how we see the world, and especially the way we relate to other people. We develop certain patterns of response; certain coping strategies. I will help you understand this lens through which you see the world, and open up possibilities for change.
I am happy to talk with you about your needs, and answer any questions you may have about therapy. Visit my web pages for more information; give me a call or send an email. I look forward to talking with you!
